Being Sick + Your Birthday = Do not mix!!

What a week it has been at the Blackburn house... Nate has been sick for a week now and I thought he was getting better, but tonight he started running a fever. I'm praying it's just teething and not a new virus. We have been to the Dr 3 times in the past week and nothing they have given him has helped, but Thankfully all the test they have ran have came back fine, and beside the fever he is getting better. I hate it when he's sick, it just breaks my heart but I'm sure all of you mommies out there understand how that feels. Being a Mommy is the hardest but best job. Oh and by the way tomorrow is his 2nd Birthday, and he's sick :( So please keep Nate in your prayers.. Thanks!

How to make a Christmas Wreath!

This is a Wreath that I made for my sister, it was super easy and cheap! So I thought I'd share it with you. Enjoy :)

What you will need:

-Plain Wreath

-Ribbon

 -6 Small Flowers

-One Large Flower

-Hot Glue Gun
-Wooden Initial
-Small tube of craft paint
(I got everything at Michael's)

1-Paint your initial, set it aside to dry

2-Wrap the Ribbon around the Wreath

3-Use your hot glue gun to glue the beginning and end of the ribbon to the wreath.

4-Arrange your large flower near the top, then glue it.

5-Arrange your 6 small flowers, then glue it.

6-Your initial should be dry by now (It may need a couple of coats of paint) glue it and your done!

See it's very simple! I've made several and it's never taken me longer than 20 minutes to make!

Have fun! :)
If you have any questions leave a comment!

Our trip to Bellingrath Gardens

We went to see the Christmas lights at Bellingrath Gardens last night. Nate loved it!
Here are our pictures!

Nate was SO good! He sat like this almost the whole time. Also, look at his new Thomas the Train blanket my cousin Heather made him.

My Camera did not do this justice. It was beautiful!

It was David's and Nate's first time seeing the Christmas lights.

They had 3 trains, and he said My Choo Choo to all of them.

We lost a mitten, as you can see.

We had a great time, and will definitely be going back!

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

I love this time of the year! I'm really excited about this Christmas because Nate will be excited to see his gifts from Santa, even though he doesn't understand who Santa is he will LOVE his presents. If you've been around Nate for more than 5 minutes you'll know how much he loves trains. He can turn anything (food, cars, cups, laundry baskets) into a train. Most of his Christmas is either Thomas the train or Mickey Mouse (his other favorite)

It's going to be great to see his face on Christmas morning but even greater than that we will be teaching him the REAL meaning of Christmas... Jesus. The world has turned away from God so much it scares me to think "What will the world be like when Nathan is my age?" We've already told him bible stories and prayed with him but of course he can't understand right now but the bible says "Teach a child the way it should go and when he's older he won't depart from it." I believe that with all my heart and I remind myself of that verse often because, it's the only peace I have with the way the world is today. So remember during this wonderful time of the year that it's not all about "Santa" it's all about Jesus!
